The only time I'll ever be next to John Travolta and Kelly Preston

AOL's Parentdish.com has a piece on how infertiles can survive the holidays, and I was interviewed for it!

  1. So after reading your article I checked out your blog. I have been trying to conceive for 6 years. We have somehow survived seven miscarriages and countless fertility treatments, etc. What brought your site to my attention was the use of humor for survival. I am relieved to know I am not the only one who does this. A story to make you smile:
I love Winnie the Pooh, a true obsession even. I love him so much he is a ring tone of mine. I was in stirrups, with a NP delicately threading a catheder up my cervix to deposit my husbands fresh baby making juice. I had placed my purse under the table and it started to ring. Just as the the NP had her head good and ALL up in my business we all heard "Hello, is anyone there? Hello, is anyone there, Oh, bother!" She SLID her chair back, looked at me, and asked "Where in the HELL is that coming from?" I have never laughed so hard in my LIFE!

  2. Great article, Lori. I shared it on my blog and can't wait for the book! Thanks for all you do to help us navigate through this tough time of the year. Despite it all, I'm thankful to have met you along this journey.

    Hugs,
    Lily

  4. I wish your blog had been around 10-15 years ago when I was going through our infertility hell. No one can even begin to relate to what it feels like unless you've been there. I had one friend try. She had ONE month where they tried to conceive and it didn't happen. She told me, "See? I know what it's like!" She was bouncing her son on her hip when she said it too. It's kind of funny now... kind of.

  5. I saw your interview on the Yahoo home page today and just wanted to say that I really appreciated it! As a fellow infertile I understand how hard the holidays can be. Thanks for being open and honest in the article - I feel like it's so important for the public to gain awareness on the subject. I'll be following your blog from now on!

  6. I just read the article and followed the link here. Thanks for speaking out about this topic. It's going to be a very hard month for me and a lot of other women going through the same thing. I'm dreading all the parties, cards, pregnant bellies, and questions. I'm hoping to try some of the tips mentioned so I don't burst into tears at a party!
